A love fairytale

Our Story

It all started with one phone call. You see, the two of them worked together for nearly a year before either of them ever knew the potential sitting right under their noses.

One day, Brittney reached out to Fumiya after work hours to discuss a pressing work-related matter. But somehow, within that one phone call, something changed. It didn’t take long for the conversation to unexpectedly shift from work topics, to everyday life.  These phone calls became more frequent, and longer each day. They talked about everything and about nothing. It became a regular occurrence for them to talk until they fell asleep.

Work became exciting, not only because they got to spend the days with each other, but also the thrill of keeping their secret.  Although, talking to co-workers on the phone isn’t a crime, it felt as though that was the first thing that was ever really theirs.

About a month later, there was a day at work where everyone just seemed to have been at their wits’ end. It was then, that Fumiya asked Brittney in private to grab a glass of wine after work. It was presented as a way to decompress from the stressors of the day, but the privacy and quietness of it all spoke volumes louder.

So, they went for wine at a local restaurant called, Char. It wasn’t long before their little one-on-one rendezvous would be intercepted by two of their co-workers, who coincidentally (and inconveniently), had plans at the exact same place and the exact same time. (Shoutout to Stacey & Charlee)

You can imagine how long it took for people at work to see their strictly-business/co-worker relationship transform into something much more… friendly.

The secret was out, and with the blessing of their super-cool boss, (shoutout to David King), the two of them continued work together for almost two years.

Fast forward to now, the two of them are embarking on their own journey of entrepreneurship and have the blessing of being able to work together every day from wherever they want in the entire world.

Moving in

We moved in together – just days before the COVID-19 quarantine was in effect. Even when the entire world seemed to be in chaos and in fear. We had never felt safer than ever before.
